“Relational capital is needed before saying hard things”

Did Jesus have relational capital before He spoke truth? I understand what this common leadership maxim means, but one thing I can testify to in ministry is that relational capital can take many forms. If there is trust and love, truth can be spoken and received without a long period of time. There’s been times I’ve walked into churches as an itinerant/interim/guest speaker, or workshop leader, and been trusted and listen to; or somebody has reached out for help personally because they trust and they know that I love them in what I’m saying, it opens the door to the Lord’s transformation in their life, through His truth not my truth. Jesus’ truth (not psychology) sets free
