One of my greatest concerns for the church in America is the drift toward lowering moral standards for heterosexual activity in the wake of homosexuality, transgenderism and gender confusion. Several conversations over the last week with Believers are concerning to me on the slippery slope of excusing some sins because they “aren’t as vile as others.” Brothers and sisters, the cheap grace of forgiveness without repentance in the church is exactly what Dietrich Bonhoeffer testified set Germany up for the Reich. Grace cost the blood of Christ, it is costly; not a license to do what we want. The Good Book gives us the standard, May we speak the truth in love, calling others to repentance and new life in Christ. Only the truth can set men and women free, being complicit in the lie only tightens the chains of bondsge. May we not embrace silence out of fear of man.
