I saw an interesting question on a mens group forum I’m part of: What prevents us as guys from opening up and sharing our struggles and problems?
My answer: For one, we feel we have to have it all together and want to bear other’s burdens and not appear effeminate. Two, I don’t think many of us have truly been disciples in the James 5:16 manner… and yet it is when we confess our sin to another (not for forgiveness but accountability) that sin often loses much of its power. But sin is strong when it’s kept in the dark, it is dispelled by the light.
