“sing to the LORD, all the earth!” Psalm 96:1 ESV

Here we have the basis here for praise and worship throughout the world.

Psalm 96:1-5 (ESV)
1  Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! 2  Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. 3  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! 4  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. 5  For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

Each generation is to be retelling not only the anthem of His salvation but to create new songs to Him. We are to bless His name. We declare His glory among the nations through the Gospel yes, but the Gospel is not the end. Our great commission to worship, to borrow a book title, defines the result of the Great Commission: worshipers. The Father is seeking those who will worship in spirit and truth (John 4). Sing of His deeds, sing of His character! Our Lord is great and it should be an ordeal to lift up our voices to Him in praise! He is to be feared above all for the gods of this world are worthless idols but the Lord is the Creator, it is He who made the heavens and upholds the universe by the word of His power.
