As a Christian, I have been appalled at the disregard for the biblical truth of gender and protecting innocent lives of babies which President Biden does not uphold.

However, there is one thing that I completely agree with the President about: we are in a battle for the heart and soul of our nation. Just the other day, in a discussion I commented that the reason why our country is in turmoil is because it has rejected the Gospel. The response was several laughs. If we have reached a point as a nation that recognizing God’s discipline and removal of His blessing is a laughing matter rather than as a dangerous place to be we are indeed in a sorry state.

One day EVERY knee will bow either in awe or terror. God is a God of love but also of Wrath, a consuming fire. Repent.

We certainly are in a battle as a nation for the heart and soul of our people. Ultimately it is not the Donkey or the Elephant that will save us. It is the Lamb alone. His Word must be honored and obeyed. We currently embrace homosexual marriage, gender choice and murder children in the womb. The Lord has been merciful toward us but He will not do so forever. Every nation in history that has turned to such atrocities has fallen. As much as we love this nation, Americans, we must love Christ and His Word more. We certainly need to be united – in conformity to Jesus Christ. If we unite around anything else, it will fall just like the Tower of Babel.

We will either humble ourselves or be humbled.

For the remainder of this essay I simply will share from Jeremiah:

“I will utter My judgments Against them concerning all their wickedness, Because they have forsaken Me, Burned incense to other gods, And worshiped the works of their own hands.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Has a nation changed its gods, Which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory For what does not profit. Be astonished, O heavens, at this, And be horribly afraid; Be very desolate,” says the LORD. “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.

….Your own wickedness will correct you, And your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing That you have forsaken the LORD your God, And the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord GOD of hosts.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:11-13, 19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Indeed you will go forth from him With your hands on your head; For the LORD has rejected your trusted allies, And you will not prosper by them.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your backslidings.” “Indeed we do come to You, For You are the LORD our God.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, And take away the foreskins of your hearts, You men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My fury come forth like fire, And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“They were like well-fed lusty stallions; Every one neighed after his neighbor’s wife. Shall I not punish them for these things? ” says the LORD. “And shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭5:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; They have revolted and departed.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭5:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Your iniquities have turned these things away, And your sins have withheld good from you.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭5:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Shall I not punish them for these things? ’ says the LORD. ‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?’ “An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭5:29-31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“As a fountain wells up with water, So she wells up with her wickedness. Violence and plundering are heard in her. Before Me continually are grief and wounds. Be instructed, O Jerusalem, Lest My soul depart from you; Lest I make you desolate, A land not inhabited.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭6:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall be cast down,” says the LORD. Thus says the LORD: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it. ’”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭6:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭7:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭7:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the LORD; So what wisdom do they have?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭8:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; In the time of their punishment They shall be cast down,” says the LORD.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭8:11-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Shall I not punish them for these things? ” says the LORD. “Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Thus says the LORD: “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭10:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭10:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“O LORD, correct me, but with justice; Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭10:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Then the LORD said to me, “Do not pray for this people, for their good.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was no good; And for the time of healing, and there was trouble.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭14:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Then the LORD said to me, “ Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My mind would not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Will a man make gods for himself, Which are not gods?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭16:20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.”

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭18:2, 4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭18:7-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

More highlights from Jeremiah will Lord willing be added as I am re-reading through this book of the Bible.
