This week we are studying Exodus 24, today we will zero in on verse 4: Good Morning, God #Gen1toRev22

Exodus 24:4 (ESV)
4  And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. He rose early in the morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

Vs. 4 Moses wrote down the commands of the Lord, built an altar to humble Himself and worship the Lord and set up twelve pillars as a monument to the commitment of the Israelites. He spoke to the Israelites and wrote down the Lord’s instruction. Then it appears he rested, he went to bed. When he arose the next day, Moses did not sleep in but got to work. He created an altar for Israel and established a memorial monument of 12 pillars.

Do you write down in a journal God’s hand in your life?

Do you get up with the goal of honoring the Lord?

Have you helped others meet with Jesus by building an “altar” (literally, providing opportunity….)?

Memorials are not bad, these pillars were a witness of the legacy and words of the “founding fathers” of God’s people. What memorials are in your individual life, your family, your local church and your community?

Lord, thank You for the reminder today of the value of writing down in my journal Your hand in my life. Father thank You that I have the privilege of rising in the morning ready to serve You. Help me, Lord, to help others come to “the altar” in their life. In Christ’s Name I ask these things, amen.
